when a trader is used to see normal sized losses, and then sees something that is x2-3 times bigger, it will take a heavy toll.

Not many people can handle that

Most of the times traders, new in martingale world, r demotivated by series of compound losses. In martingale, u need to have a big heart and "no brain" :D.[grin]

Have anyone tested Martingale EAs? I have seen a few of them and no one of them has many positive reviews. Similarly Martingale systems may bring temporary success but in the end we will be left with nothing.

All modified martingale systems usually use "control" techniques. Martingale has one big drawback which is its high probability of loosing all ur money. So modified martingale techniques try to minimise effect of this drawback.

Martingale is not for beginners. It is for highly experienced traders who r willing to take extreme risks.

Recently arkuda EA here on fxstat used martingale with some changes. But arkuda 1 demo account failed and now he has created arkuda 2 account. Initial results looked amazing in arkuda 1. But just one day of bad luck took all profits.

Yup most martingale strats I have seen have amazing equity curves, followed by massive losses in one day.

In earlier Arkuda versions I combined technical analysis with grid and martingale. I developed and tweaked the system to the point where I got backtesting results of several years of consisting wins, yet the moment of those fatal 8-9 losses in a row eventually always came and "crashed" the backtest at some point, which proved to me, that no matter how clever you try to design and optimize a martingale and/or grid system, it will probably never be successful in long term. It will kill your account at least during the next big market crash that is going happen some day sooner or later [grin]

In the meanwhile I completely gave up martingale.

If anyone is interested, "Arkuda" still exists and is being further developed (without martingale and without grid),

Martingale is always a complicated way, if we want to be successful then we need to reduce the risk. I do it easily through broker like OctaFX given they have excellent conditions with low spreads from 0.1 pips, zero balance protection, deposit bonus that’s up to 50% that’s usable plus the policy is awesome with no restrictions whatsoever and also we can work with freedom which makes them so very special broker to work with especially for traders who are just starting up.
