Good question...... Well, maybe if any of your friend has already bought a good EA then you can also buy the same. Otherwise you have to trust reviews.

Well in my opinion Its just useles to buy an EA online. If you want a good EA then there are 2 requirements. You must have good strategy to trade and you must be a programmer. Even if any of your friend has these qualities, he can make you a good EA.

But if your are thinking to buy an EA from the list of thousands on the forex websites, forums and review sites then you r wasting your time and money,

My thought is that instead of buying EA. There are a lot of people who develop and share their EA for free at forex website.

Some of them can be gem and are in the finetuning stage before using for their in-house trading for managed account.
As always forward test them on a demo account, do not use a Live account.

Why buy an EA in the first place? didn't the programmer program it to fit his trading style?

hmm in my opinion using EA is good for newbies....When i start forex and i was a newbie then i search and collect thousands of ea's from around the globe from frinds , diffrent forums and underground sites.I was confused to which i use from them then i serach diffrent sites fore reviews but all i belive are fake just seles lead generating sites.Then i build myself a ea from my own strategy and test it demo it take 6th months of hardworking but finaly i made it and now iam using it in my real account with same rules and trade plan that i have.I think if you willing to buy an ea then you just buy a ea thats strategy you know already or you can found it from the net.No any strategy or ea is correct all the time so work hard to understand the techniqe behind the ea.

I dissagree completely with your opening statement, but agree with your own contradiction.

Newbies should STAY AWAY from EAs! Why? Because newbies need to LEARN about FOREX first, learn how to read charts, learn what price action is, etc. EAs are programmed for particular styles of trading, which the newbie has no idea about. Unleash an EA on the wrong account size, and they can say goodbye to it.

You are right that peole should learn how to program their own EA, but before that they need to learn about trading. Until the trader has their own tried and tested strategy, they are not in a position to build the EA.

Hi thank you for your comment dear but i think when i took trdaing as a business and take it serious then i made so many decions like i give this 8-10 hours per day for 6 months to watch the market, learning, reading books, charts and many many other things during this i think no one can be a trader in a night for that he must give time and effort to become succesful.

The answer to the title of this thread is

Decision to buy an EA "shouldnt be made".

You should either make your own EA by developing a strategy. I think even if your friend makes an EA for u, you may not be able to use it properly coz u dont know strategy of that EA. u dont know which market condition is suitable for this EA and which is not. So the first thing is developing or complete understanding of a strategy. Then you can make an EA based on that strategy. This EA will be much better than "bought EA".

Ans- EA trading history, Price, Seller of the EA, What google tells us when we search abt it and Forex forums. These are the points that should be considered.
