Forex EAs are either bought or available at monthly subscription.

Good EAs are available at very high prices which means $500 or more.
EAs are also available at a monthly subscription. There are variable prices.

Which one do you prefer and why?

Usually monthly subscription is a better way to test a strategy.

Moreover if a website is offering monthly subscription, it means they are sure that their EA or signal will work. Coz they know if it will not work, no one will buy next month subscription. Some even charge very low for first month to give its user a cheap trial.

Actually it depends on cost that we can afford and benefit that we expect to get in future.

If we can afford high cost and an EA has very good trading history then there is nothing wrong in buying EA. But if we cannot afford high cost or we think that we want to subscribe to multiple EA/signal providing services so that we can check them, then subscription is the best way.

I will go with subscription.I choose it bcoz I might make enough profit to pay its monthly fee at least. If it is not making profits, then I will simply leave it.

Yes, monthly subscription do have this big advantage that if it is not profitable, we can simply leave it. At the same time, we should know that many traders will be using this service if it is profitable. But if we talk about buying a costly EA, then not many traders can buy it. So a strategy that is less common can have more chances of making profits. I am not talking about scam robots.

Most of the times we r not given both options. My question was how will you choose whether to buy an EA or system or subscribe to it. It means that there r 2 different systems using one option each. Which things will you compare?

For example if you compare profit making ability... will u simply go with the system with higher profit? or will you also perform subscription vs full cost analysis?

Good point... we r only compare advantages of subscription over full cost. After considering other factors we may not choose subscription. There r some subscription sites that r way too costly.

The question was which cost system will be preferred. That is why I voted for subscription method. Websites like fxstat r much popular than EA sites. If we look at its rate, it seems that we can easily pay fee out of profit. Managedbook cost system is entirely based on profit. So subscription is usually preferred.

EA is a good option if we have our own strategy and we want to develop it into an EA so that it can become more effective and precise. But buying an EA..... I dont think that any intermediate to pro trader will go for it unless they have very strong proof of its success.

So subscription wins in the end.

I think that is why services similar to fxstat r becoming more and more popular. People r now shifting from EAs to signal following. These services charge u a share of profit. Some services cost a fixed monthly fee.

a good strategy will not die no matter how many people trade it.

This also means that a good strategy is not a scalper, which depands on that half a pip here and there. I am talking about the minimum 15-20 pips per trade programs. All you need is a good broker. with lots of liquidity.

Focus on pips not dollars and you will always make money

Personally, if the strategy works long term, why sell it?

Experienced EA' users also know that adjusting external parameters is never Set and Forget. Therefore selling a product and leaving the user to figure out the proper setting for each month leaves the user searching for the good setitng. Hence the long 100+ pages in forums about a few profitable EA's.

We can agree on " Signals are better for long term use" Let the developer do the hard work and let the users enjoy an EASY to follow system that doesn't require any work.  This was my approach when I designed my signal service - Forex i007.  And, in the recent months from my release, I 've seen other vendors follow by hosting the clients account and steering away from the EA transmitters.

If you're an active forum participate. You can promote my product and earn a commission every month ( not just on every sale).  Affiliates have the choice to use click2sell, Regnow, and Clickbank.  Contact me if you are interested.
