some of the traders buy signals and trade with them.my question is do you think following signals from somebody can help you to improve yourself or it is skills killer.?

some says with the signals we receive we can learn more about right entries.and improve our skills.

and some others say: following signals of others will just make us blind trader and will kill our skills.

so which side are you?

First of all I prefer to trade on my own  study and analysis and I do not buy signals or even trade on any free signals as the reliability on these signals is a question mark. A trader needs to trust themselves and have faith and confidence on their own abilities and skills .

A decent signal provider will be able to be consistently profitable - and the more profitable you are, the longer you will stay in the game and learn.  It is always easier to see trades done in front of you, and you can learn a lot from copying a trader, as well as become profitable.  By following a successful trader you will avoid the months, and years of agony of constant loss, and skip to a profitable strategy straight away.  I know many people who 'want to learn to trade by themselves' and most of them have quit from frustration.  A lot of the need to invent your own strategy comes from having an ego - in reality, no-one cares, and neither should you that the way you made money was copied from someone else or invented by yourself.  The first way makes money (with a decent provider), the second loses money and takes a long time.

I agree with the statement that following signals can help you in improving your trading skills. How? You can earn good income by selecting profitable and highly experienced trader as your manager or signal provider. So you can follow signals with a higher lot, say 1 minilot per trade. You can trade manually with micro lots. You can trade manually with 50%(or more) of the profits that you r getting from signal following. In this way even if you loose from your trades, you will make net profit.

You can also compare your entry and exit positions with your signal provider entry and exit positions. But it can be different coz of trading styles. If your trading style is similar to your signal provider then comparison of trades will give you an idea of where u went wrong.

The bottom line is that when you r earning money, you dont get frustrated. In this way you can concentrate more on improving your skills.

One of the most common heard things is that I want to trade off my own abilities and skills etc... but that is in reality ego - the wish to be right, and 'know the market.'  In fact the only aim should be to make a profit - there is no point difference in you making a profit, and someone else making the profit for you.  The profit is still there for you, no matter what you do.  For those people who are not making money, or losing money - think about how much money your ego is making you lose.

Definitly when they trade with your live account at that time they are in general improving their skill this is the best thing for them. I believe that there is no one who can manage your portfolio better than you. So its best to learn and trade at your own.

Trading takes years to learn - there is no way around it - if you don't take the time, then you will never improve - but equally, if you trade poorly, you will never make money.
