Anything java based is the better than MT4 for placing market orders.  The latency on MT4 platform is noticeable.  This is especially the case in MT4 bridging platforms, such as oanda where its not uncommon to see market orders take a minute to place, which is obviously an account killer.  Java based platforms place orders very quickly.

btw, I recently tried out MT5, and it is SO much better than Mt4.  YOu can actually have different timeframes, 2,3, 10, 20 min charts, 2 hr charts etc.  You can also have faster execution and more tools and options for annotating your charts.  Can't think of any reason why people stick to MT4 other than because they are stuck there.

They r actually used to mt4. We all r used to mt4 so moving to a newer version will take time. Of course mt5 coomes with more features but mt4 is still the most popular platform.

MT5 is better in many ways especially in order handling and execution. EAs and indicators for MT5 r written in mql5 and not in mql4. But there r many brokers who do not offer mt5.

There are some absolute necessities when it comes to selecting a broker. Here are the things to name a few.
1. The brokerage firm must be regulated by a government body.
2. Minimum account size (if you are on a tight budget) and leverage
3. Tightest spreads.
4. Quick withdrawal and deposit. (It's no good if you can't withdraw your profit easily right?)
5. Good Trading Platform and fast execution. (Select MT4 if you're really fond of it, and most brokers offers MT4 and 5)
6. Excellent Customer support.
The final and most important point to consider is Reputation. Just Google it. Check forex peace army and other forex forums and don't open a standard account immediately, try micro A/c and test to see if they fit for your taste.

Hi. Just a quick question please. Is anyone still using this platform? I'm just wondering if this is still effective for this year to use? https://imagicon.info/cat/3-4/1.gif
