I think this is little tricky. I have read so many forums about this topic and every one has different view. [sick]

I belive, first you need to think about the regulation and reputation.

Regulation will help you feel confident when you put your money with the broker. At least you know there is an independent body where you can complain to in case you have a problem with your withdrawals or even your trading.

spread and speed of execution comes next to make sure your are not paying more for the same product. Its like you buy the same item with same brand from different shops and each giving you a different price. To make sure you have received the fair or low spread on that item, you will need best execution. Otherwise, its like the sales man say, our sale price is lower than anybody else, but you can't buy it.

Then support, as you need a service support offered 24/5 during your trading hours in case there is a technical issue which require the support team to resolve it.

Very tough to choose from these points. I will explain how I see it.

Spread matters a lot.

Leverage cannot be most important

Platform does matter and any bug in platform can cause high loss

Support is another important but not most important element.

Bonuses...... no way.

Speed of execution matters.

Minimum deposit can be the very important element if you dont have enough capital. Most of the brokers have very low capital requirements.

In my opinion the factors should be rated as

1 --> Spread

2--> Platform

3 --> Speed of execution

4 --> Support

5 --> Leverage

6 --> Bonuses

7 --> Min deposit (Its ranking can change if you dont have good capital investment)

Choosing a broker will be always hard and will be always followed hours of reading reviews, regulations, etc. If you are smart! Having a good broker is the first stage of trading, because without that, you are beating a dead horse.

Personally what I first check at an fx broker is the relation with the publicity. I google "*broker name* review", and "*broker name* scam", so more or less I can find out does the broker deserve my time or not.

If it does, I look for their basic info. Checking their member ID at financial regulators, checking where the company is based, checking how serious the company is, checking how long they have been operating. Checking is it safe to deposit my money, checking will I be able to withdraw.

When I got to this point I have already ensured they are not market makers, they are honest, they are popular, regulated, they do not hunt your stops and manipulating the price (based on the reviews)

What I require at a broker is normal, average spreads, and a minimal 1:50 leverage. For me I prefer MetaTrader and TradeStation as platforms, support must be helpful and problem-solving, speed of ecxecution most be normal, min. deposit should be not so high. I don't care about their bonuses when I came this far, although I am happy if they offer some deposit bonus or something.

Keep it simple stupid
