If we check 5 year and 10 year charts of Gold, we can only see a few major downward trends. There is just one major downward trend as big as of now. Overall the growth of Gold is much faster in recent 5 years as compared to previous 5 years. So its not just a sudden increase. During last 5 years, gold prices rose at high pace and even some downward movements were not able to slower its pace. The most significant increase started after 2008 and ended recently after reaching $1900.30.

So I would say once again that there is no chance of a big downward trend.

Where do you get historical prices? I think we'll see Gold up again on a while.. check the volumes in the related options!!!

You can easily get historical prices by searching Gold charts on google. I get it from kitco.com

in my opinion gold is losing its safe haven status in times of volatility and uncertainty. if we get some bad news from Europe, trades and investores will flock to a few assets. these will either be the USD, Swiss Franc and sovereign bonds. the only issue is when the Swiss government lowers the value of the Franc once it gets too high but.........

having said that, i am still bullish when it come to gold

Looks like it will continue to rise with slower pace in the next week . It went to 1765 yesterday and now again it is down a little. but I think the new week will start with bullish trend.

Last week it shows steady upward trend. It looks like next week it will cross $1800 easily.

Stick to your rules

I cant see clear trend. The best I can predict is that it cannot cross $1800. Today there was a declining trend. I think it will continue dodging our predictions.

Gold prices has fallen from past few weeks and it is trading in the levels of 1625$ - 1700 $ and the prices seem to be settling at these levels. We need to be cautious before we trade in gold .
