It is a scientific art , you need to be keep an eye on every fact , figure , news and you need to be artistically skilful to apply your knowledge for trading.

Forex is not an Art nor a Science to me.. Its pure business based upon  mathmethics... Also with some sentimental issues here.. maybe this is a business combining everything,,, science, art, commerce, psychology etc... this is why nobody can truly gauge the market... we can only predict but never give surety..

Thats a good point kalponick. Forex, to some extent, is based on probability supported by mathematical and statistical indicators. So if we r talking about "probability as a topic of mathematics", then trading is mathematics. But it is not "purely" mathematics. I have never seen (and I am sure that no one has seen) any mathematician with 100% winning rate. In mathematics, if we r applying right formula, we should get right results. But here in forex, not even most expert mathematician can win 100% trades. That is why I said that a big part of it is probability.

I think trading is both art and science as a trader needs to have some good skills and abilities to trade in these markets and moreover they need to work hard for the same and it is science in a way as a trader needs to learn the basic rules and also analysis and learn and study indicators for his trades .

well l think forex is not that complicated.we are the one making it very complicated.it is all about discibline.very few of us can follow a strategy or rules.so when ever we dont follow the basic rules we loss.so if a newbie want to be successful trader he or she just have to pick a working strategy and forget the rest.only and only follow it %100.it will work better than everything.

Forex is just like any other trade or business that reuires hard work , knowledge and skills and being in the market we need to study and observe the markets before we perform our trades .

Forex is a game or competition where you are trying to make money out of someone else, and they are trying their best to make money out of you.  Bits of art and science included, but its not a solitary occupation like an art or science - you and your bankroll are pitted against the best traders of the day.

Yea there r always two groups. One in support of upward and one in support of downward movement. And a trader always hopes that best traders r on his side.[grin]

Stick to your rules

Not only the best, perhaps just the biggest ones...
