We all know how inherently risky trading foreign currencies is... so why do we still do it?

Do we like the thrill of trading on live streamed prices, do we do it because there we think it is glamourous?

Is it perhaps as humans we like a challenge and like to think we can beat the "system" and out-smart it?

Or is it simply greed, and we are lured in by the possibilty of gold and riches?

Discuss!

One word answer is greed.

Forex is lucrative as well as risky.

Hahahahahahahaha huge LOL on that 'glamourous' label when it comes to forex trading. You don't glamuorize the fact that you are indirectly participating in adversely affecting the economy of the nation whose currency you are trading on. Banks, institutional investors and other big players are more than willing to spread the blame on the speculations that adversely affect the currency rate which also affect the economy. Although they claim this is a zero-sum game, telling that to the average person who does not know anything about how the economy works and much more about how borderless electronic trading affects their lives is simply out of the question.

So again, why glamuorize it? If I were so successful trading forex or trading for any part I would just keep it to myself. The best thing I would do won't be to teach people forex trading, since I know they will always look to me for answers and then blame me for their mistakes when in fact it was their own mistake since they got emotional. Rather what I would do is just tell what I know about how the economy works and how things such as trading for speculation and hedging can help preserve capital.

There is nothing glamourous about forex trading the same way that there is no glamour when lawyering for a high-profile client that is inherently corrupt. This is just a game but unlike most games the stakes here are higher.

The government watches over the people. But who watches over the government? It's the corporations.

Greed. It is a big factor. Forex is always advertised as "richi rich" business. So most of the people, entering this business, have "double their money" concept in mind.

There maybe a very small( or maybe not at all) minority who is trading with real money just to beat the market.

Stick to your rules

For most demo traders, it is like a challenging game. Novice traders consider it a gold mine. For Pro traders, it is a profession and job. Intermediate level traders try to get enough money to make a living out of it.

There is nothing glamorous.

Yes we all know that trading currency is so risky but we still trade because it is one of the best business in the world. Here success is not as easy as it seems. To succeed in forex business we need to have a lot of trading and analyzing knowledge.
