Suggestion to decrease spam

I have a suggestion in my mind to decrease spam. 

All forums who reward their users in someway (especially for posting) face spam. So we can say that it is a Global Problem.[grin]. The best way to deal with them is "Ban". But another way can be to appreciate quality posting.

Forum is already paying users for quality posting on forum. Another appreciation can be to make a poll of top 3 to 5 users and let other users vote them based on quality of their posts. This list can be reviewd once a week or once a month. Each user should be able to give 1 vote daily to any user, in the list, of his own choice.

It might increase quality post rate.

What do u guys think?

My opinion is 50/50. But I dun think it will work

I dun think it will work. If someone is spamming to earn, he will not stop. It is highly unlikely that a quality poster will spam. Similarly it is highly unlikely that a spammer will make quality posts [aww]

Yes, it wont work. 

Spammers r spamming for money. Why would they care for "top 5"?

I agree with others. It is not a good motivational factor for spammers.

It is motivational for old users. Spammers usually make new accounts and that is why this suggestion will not decrease spam.
