This discussion is transferred from general discussion bcoz it is the right section.

I have a few questions about it. As a scalper EA, isnt avg trades per day low? Lot size is bigger as compared to ur investment. A scalping EA opening minilot at $100 investment can easily cause very high drawdown by loosing a few trades.

Stick to your rules

Even though he said, he would answer but we have not received any response so far. Maybe he has not seen this thread yet. Me too have a few questions but if he is not here then it is of no use.

sometimes I wonder why would people risk so much money on scalpers. They dont work on bigger amounts, as the bigger you get the more you move the market with your trade.

Thats why most scalper EA show only demo accounts or tiny account balances as they would not make any money with bigger accounts

Focus on pips not dollars and you will always make money

First thing is that an individual trader cannot move the market. Even a small group of traders cannot do so because it is not possible for individuals or small groups to have investment aounts big enough to affect market. It is like if u add 1 drop to a million gallon water, will it increase? Yes it would become 1 million gallon and 1 drop :D. But it is extremely negligible amount. Same is the relationship of an individual trader or a small group of traders.

I agree that scalping is a difficult task but at the same time I have seen some real scalpers with long trading history.

I understand what your saying, and your right in theory only... let me tell you from first hand knowledge on how brokers work...

if your a small guy, they will B book you, and in this situation especially if your classified as a scalper here is what is going to happen.

your trades will be "limited" in a way where only a certain portion of your trade will be processed at the rate you want, the rest will be processed at the next rate. even as little as 0.1 pips higher. which is not much, but if you do the math, and your scalping 1 pip... thats 10%.

and this is when your trading under 1$ a pip....

once you get higher, it will start slipping more and more... until you will not be able to make profitable scalping trades as your "moving the market" at your brokerage by just enough to make you lose money...

hope that explains it

Yes. This happens whenever u r trading with retail brokers where broker will earn money when u loose money. It can also happen when u open very large order which may not be currently available in market at ur desired price and thus causes u to pay higher price if u choose to buy at "market price".
